Cheryl Cole`s husband is hoping to win her back
Cheryl announced she was separating from soccer player Ashley last month, after a string of women claimed to have had affairs with him. Since then, they have only seen each other briefly, although there has been no talk of divorce.
It has now been claimed the estranged couple are due to meet over Easter, where Ashley will present Cheryl with the memento. The book is full of pictures and reminders of their three-and-a-half year marriage, which Ashley hopes will convince the singer to give their romance another try.
"Ashley is desperate to get Cheryl back for good. He is trying everything. He adores her and let`s not forget that Cheryl was madly in love with Ashley," a source told British newspaper The Daily Mail. "It is extremely telling that neither Cheryl nor Ashley have contacted divorce lawyers yet. Ashley`s mother Sue has been trying to reconcile the pair and has acted as go-between, but Cheryl`s view is that it is her and Ashley who make the decisions and no-one else."
The news came shortly after Cheryl made her first public reference to her marriage troubles.
The 26-year-old is currently in Europe promoting her solo material. After the allegations against her husband broke, Cheryl removed her wedding ring. While in Paris earlier this week she was pictured seemingly flaunting her bare ring finger, seen by many as a jibe to Ashley.
She took to her management`s Twitter page - the place her separation was first announced - to rubbish the reports, insisting they had been blown out of proportion.
"I just wanted to clear up the stories about whether I am wearing my wedding ring in my own words, as this has been going on for too long and is getting boring," she wrote. "It is not some silly game I am playing. That is not my style. There have been many occasions when I have not worn my wedding ring, many of those when I was pictured with Ashley. I find it crazy that people would think I use this as some sort of msg. Believe it or not Ashley is fully aware of any situation going on in our personal lives. He does not need to see a picture of me moving the hair out of my face to explain anything. Please drop it (sic)."
Cheryl and Ashley met in 2004, and married in a lavish ceremony two years later.
In 2008, Ashley was accused of having a drunken one-night-stand with a hairdresser, leaving Cheryl so devastated she removed her wedding ring and didn?t wear it again for eight months.
